Welcome on a student tour to Rochester, home of Charles Dickens and its famous Dickensian Christmas Festival.
As we get closer to Christmas there is nothing better than stepping back in time to get a feeling of how Christmas felt during the time of Charles Dickens. On this trip you will get two very different ideas of what Christmas was like in a medieval castle and a Dickensian city centre.
Rochester was the home of Charles Dickens and its where he wrote "A Christmas Carol" one of the most famous novels about Christmas. Every year the streets of Rochester are filled with entertainment and parades of characters dressed in Victorian costume. There are stages throughout the city centre with music, plays and readings from Dickens all based around a Victorian Christmas, along with all of this there is the wonderful castle (admission included in your ticket price) and the cathedral to explore as well (free admission).
Optionals extras are also available, but they are not included in the tour price.
